Banks and insurance companies are already interested and even want to come up with names for rockets
We have already written that the Russian Government Commission on Legislative Activities approved a draft federal law that will allow advertising on space infrastructure facilities and space technology. Then the bill was approved taking into account modifications, and now the State Duma adopted it in the first reading (obviously, the necessary amendments were made).
If this law is adopted, Roscosmos will be able to enter into contracts for advertising on launch vehicles and space facilities: cosmodromes, launch complexes, launchers, etc. Such advertising can become a source of additional income for both the federal budget and the state corporation.
Roscosmos has calculated that advertising on rockets can bring in about 200 million rubles of income per year, and on space infrastructure facilities — up to 5 million rubles per year. Half of the funds are planned to be sent to the state budget. Large Russian banks and insurance companies have already confirmed that they are interested in advertising on space technology and structures and have even expressed a desire to come up with names for spacecraft, according to the explanatory note to the bill.
