Turkey wants to expand cooperation with Rosatom

Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Alparslan Bayraktar said that Turkey is interested in expanding cooperation with Rosatom, for example in the project to build a new nuclear power plant.

«We want to expand our cooperation with Rosatom, including on the project „Sinop“», — said Alparslan Bayraktar.

At the Akkuyu NPP Four reactors are currently under construction: “By 2035, we plan to reach a capacity of 7.2 GW, and by 2050 we plan to increase this capacity to 20 GW. It is also necessary to build four more reactors in Sinop, and then we will probably turn our attention to small modular reactors».
