The head of Helldivers 2 developers praised the willpower of the community in the confrontation with Sony

Helldivers 2 players have had a tough time in recent days. Amid the controversial PSN account requirement for PC players and the strong backlash against it, Sony has taken a step back in the face of overwhelming odds.

But most intriguing is the attitude of Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt, who remained remarkably calm throughout the storm, being in the trenches and sharing the burdens of frontline community managers during a difficult time.

Following Sony's announcement that it was retracting its demand, Pilestedt took to Twitter to express his admiration for the community's “willpower” and praise for its “ability to collaborate.” Teasing the platform owner a little, he thanked Sony for making the right decision:

“First of all, I am amazed by the willpower of the Helldivers 2 community and your ability to cooperation. Secondly, I want to thank our partners and friends at PlayStation for moving quickly and efficiently to make the PSN link optional. Together we want to set a new standard for what a game service is, and how developers and the community can support each other to create the best gaming experience.”
