Roscosmos plans to conduct the first launch of the Angara-A5V launch vehicle. with reusable stages, including an oxygen-hydrogen third stage, in 2030. The head of Roscosmos, Yuri Borisov, informed Russian President Vladimir Putin about this during a meeting with members of the government.
Borisov said:
Subject to continued sufficient funding for the work, flight tests of this launch vehicle are planned for 2030.
As Borisov noted, the rocket ensures the launch of a payload weighing up to 38 tons into low Earth orbit. In the future, this launch vehicle is planned to be used to send automatic interplanetary stations and devices for exploring the Solar System and deep space.
Previously it was reported that flight tests of the heavy «Angara-A5B» will begin only in 2028. And this is not the first transfer — Initially it was said about 2027. Production of the hydrogen stage is planned at the Moscow site of the Khrunichev Center, which is part of Roscosmos.
