But they do not concern operations on humans
Elon Musk's Neuralink recently reported its first successful human operation, and now the US Food and Drug Administration has found a number of problems.
They concern, however, not operations on humans, but record keeping and quality control of experiments on animals. Violations were identified in the company's California research center. At the same time, a similar check of the Texas center did not reveal any violations.
Problems identified by inspectors included missing calibration records for various instruments. In another study, seven instruments, including a vital signs monitor, had no calibration records.
Other problems included quality assurance staff not signing off on the final study report or documenting deviations from approved protocols.
It is worth noting that department inspectors visited Neuralink facilities last summer, that is, long before the human operation.
