Apple has released the final versions of TV, Music, Devices on Windows (Windows 10 and 11) – more than a year after the release of previous versions, they came out of beta and got rid of the Preview mark in the title, the MacRumors website noted.
Microsoft helped with Apple's launch (somewhat ironically, given the lengthy beta test), and Microsoft Store lead architect Rudi Hein congratulated Apple on the launch on X/Twitter. Microsoft, for its part, previously integrated iCloud into Windows, making it possible to access photos/videos from Apple cloud storage directly through the standard Photos program in Windows 11.
The trio of programs mentioned, together with the updated iCloud, should replace iTunes on Windows – Apple TV is designed for watching movies and TV series, Apple Music is for listening to music, and Apple Devices is for managing devices (creating backups, restoring iPhone and iPad, content synchronization and that's all). iTunes is now only needed to access podcasts and audiobooks on Windows.
The final versions of Apple TV, Apple Music and Apple Devices for Windows are now available to download from the Microsoft Store – only on traditional (x86-compatible) PCs running Windows 10 or Windows 11. And there is no sign of ARM64 development yet -versions for PC on Qualcomm processors (Windows on ARM platform).
