It will increase the autonomous mileage to 480 km and will be able to withstand severe frosts

The Russian brand of electric vehicles Evolute announced that it has already begun testing a domestically developed traction battery. According to the company, an electric car with a domestic traction battery will appear on the Russian market for the first time. It was developed by the company «Autonomous Energy Systems» and will be installed on Evolute i-Joy electric crossovers.

The battery capacity will be more than 60 kWh, which is almost 10 kWh more than the battery currently used in the crossover. As a result, the total autonomous mileage of the Evolute i-Joy will be increased by 20% and will be up to 480 km, the company notes. The rated voltage of the traction battery is estimated at 350 V, and the maximum current in normal mode — 260 A per discharge and 200 A per charge.

The tested battery uses domestically developed components — from thermostatting systems to control units and telematics. The battery was created taking into account the road and climatic conditions of the country, has a fast charge function, and is resistant to precipitation and temperature changes. The battery is equipped with a cooling system, which will allow the electric vehicle to be used in frosts down to -40°C.

After field tests, Russian batteries will be installed on Evolute i-Joy electric vehicles. In the future, other brand models will also receive such batteries: the i-Pro sedan, the i-Sky and i-Jet crossovers, the i-Van minivan, as well as the seven-seat hybrid crossover i-Space. As we already wrote, perhaps a new car called i-Bat will soon appear in the lineup.
