Samsung is expected to release its Galaxy Ring smart ring next month. On the eve of the debut, a method for charging this device was demonstrated. To recharge the ring's battery, you will have to use a case similar to the one used to charge wireless headphones.
This became known thanks to an image posted by Ice Universe on Weibo. The image shows a small white plastic case with the Samsung logo embossed on the front and a raised section in the middle that holds the ring in place. The power transfer uses charging contacts, which were clearly visible when Samsung first showed off the Ring.
In addition, two lines are visible on the case and the ring itself, which are aligned, apparently to help users understand whether the ring is positioned correctly in the case.
Notably, this is similar to RingConn, which also uses a charging case for its smart ring. By comparison, Oura uses a charging dock that works similar to the Samsung, but using the case seems travel-friendly. It would also be nice if the case included a battery so that, like the headphones, the ring can be charged on the go. However, since Samsung rates battery life on the Galaxy Ring at up to nine days, this charging case probably won't be needed that often anyway.
Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy Ring along with new foldable smartphones and smartwatches at an event on July 10th.
