Starfield is once again receiving negative reviews. Players did not appreciate that Bethesda added a paid mod store to such a game

Todd Howard talked with blogger MrMattyPlays. During the conversation, we touched on the recent scandal in the Starfield community.

The fact is that Starfield launched a Creation Club with paid modifications. Some players were not happy with this maneuver and began to criticize the developers, and Todd Howard tried to outline Bethesda’s position – the players heard, but they will not cancel the initiative:

“….yes , you know, we also hear [negative] feedback. First of all, mods are priced based on what we've done before, both in Creation Club and in Fallout 76. And we always try to look at what else [can be done] to make sure we're offering [value proposition] to everyone, and where this is not the case – hey, you know, we will definitely adjust [add something].

I want to say about [the] Trackers Alliance [mod], which was actually an attempt at something that we did in the Creation Club where we were like, “Hey, you're going to get this special skin and a special weapons,” we kind of wanted to put them together and then we thought, let's go the extra mile and wrap it around a quest, but now we're definitely seeing the feedback – [this backlash] isn't quite what we want [the reactions are now along the lines of : oh no, this seems like a faction that we – Bethesda –  cut and then sold for 700 credits], and so I think we're going to look at [this case and think about] how we deliver that kind of content….” It is expected that Bethesda will also think about the pricing policy.
