Now only six cars are produced per day
JSC «Automobile Motor Society», which currently produces trucks at the former Volvo plant in Kaluga, plans to double the daily production of trucks. According to the company's executive director Roman Petryaev, work is progressing in accordance with the production schedule, and it is planned to produce 12 Kaluga Next off-road trucks per day. Now operating five days a week, the plant produces six trucks a day, and has produced more than 190 vehicles since the beginning of 2024.
Petryaev also noted that since the end of November last year, it was possible not only to bring the enterprise out of idle time, but also to organize a full-fledged assembly line. At the same time, negotiations are underway with an international industrial partner, he added. It is expected that the former Volvo plant will also produce Chinese trucks, including long-haul tractors. This was discussed back in December last year, when the plant in Kaluga was restarted.
