During the year, COMAC C919 transported about 300 thousand passengers
Commercial operation of the first Chinese passenger airliner began a year ago: on May 28, 2023, the first COMAC C919 entered routes. The results of the first year of operation of these aircraft on the routes have now been summed up.
During this time, COMAC C919s flew more than 2,100 missions without any incidents. The liners spent more than 6,000 hours in the sky (that is, more than 250 days). As you can see, planes do not sit idle on the ground. About 300 thousand passengers were transported during the year, the average load of airliners — about 80%, and it is more than that of analogues on the same routes.
China Eastern Airlines — this is the world's first operator of the C919 — has already six airliners in its fleet. The airline has trained more than 60 pilots for the C919 and about 170 flight attendants, and trained more than 60 maintenance personnel. The aircraft are already used on four routes: Shanghai Hongqiao — Guangzhou Baiyun, Shanghai Hongqiao-Beijing Daxing, Shanghai Hongqiao-Chengdu Tianfu and Shanghai Hongqiao-Xian Xianyang.
