BYD has introduced a new version of its last year's bestseller BYD Seagull. The car, called BYD Seagull Honor Edition, has been launched with an official price ranging from $9,700 to $11,900, while last year's version was priced between $10,200 and $12,500.
Remember, BYD Seagull — all-electric 5-door hatchback introduced in April last year. It has since become BYD's best seller, selling 280,217 units in China in 2023.
BYD Seagull Honor Edition offers an electric range of 305 to 405 km. Overall dimensions are 3780 x 1715 x 1540 mm with a wheelbase of 2500 mm. The maximum engine power is 55 kW, the maximum torque — 135 N·m, acceleration time 0–50 km/h — 4.9 seconds. Charging time takes 30 minutes from 30 to 80%.
There is a MacPherson-type suspension at the front, and a torsion beam at the rear. The standard equipment includes front airbags (the Flying version has side airbags), front and rear side curtain airbags, 3 rear parking sensors, a rear view camera system, fixed speed cruise control, and the Flying version also gets adaptive cruise. Equipment includes Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Intelligent High and Low Beam (AFL).
All models come standard with Bluetooth and NFC dongles, 4G support, and online navigation.
