The company is recalling more than 8,000 cars

Porsche has recalled more than eight thousand Porsche 911s because the front and rear windshields could fall out in a crash.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 8,101 Porsche 911s built from 2020 to 2024 are potentially affected by this issue, although the documents do not indicate which trim levels will be affected. The problem lies in the glue that is used to glue windshields and rear windows to cars, or rather in a violation of technology. The seats were poorly cleaned, which leads to weakening of the adhesive joint.

Porsche became aware of this problem in November last year. Inspection showed that in these weaker areas the glass may have partially peeled off. In the event of an accident, the overall connection may be too weak to hold the windshield in place. Flying windshield — this is very bad for any car.

The documents indicate 15 warranty claims. Porsche says it is not aware of any broken glass and there are no reports of any accidents or injuries related to the problem.

Porsche says that excessive wind noise or fogging in the vehicle may indicate problem areas.
