A very unusual event took place in Sweden. A Doom tournament was held in the Scandinavian country using AM 430X NERA robotic lawn mowers worth approximately $4,000. The manufacturer is Husqvarna.
The event was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Doom series. Bethesda also took part in organizing the tournament.
AM 430X NERA is equipped with a wheel that is responsible for turning the camera and shooting. You can move forward and sideways using two buttons. But you can’t change weapons when playing on a lawnmower. But there is a multiplayer mode. It was possible to implement it due to the presence of a Wi-Fi wireless adapter.
The Doom robotic lawnmower tournament has become part of the Swedish festival DramHack Winter 2023. The full version of the competition (45 minutes) is available for viewing on the official DramHack Twitch page. The winner received an AM 430X NERA lawnmower. Models AM 320 NERA and AM Aspire R4 are awarded for 2nd and 3rd places, respectively.
