Mikhail Remizov, Deputy General Director of the United Engine Corporation (UEC) for strategy and program and project management, told us when we should expect the start of serial deliveries of PD-14 aircraft engines. According to him, this will happen in 2024. «Current year — this is the year of our contractual obligation to certify the engine (PD-14) and the start of serial deliveries», — Remizov said during Industrialist Day as part of the forum-exhibition «Russia».
The PD-14 engine was developed specifically for the promising medium-range Russian MS-21 aircraft. Certificate of the Federal Air Transport Agency for PD-14 Corporation «Irkut» received at the end of 2022, last year the first engines were put into production, they are being tested. It was reported that now the PD-14 engine can provide the MS-21 airliner with a flight range of 5.1 thousand km, but in the future the range can be increased to 6–7 thousand km.
