«Avtozavod St. Petersburg» received vehicle type approval (VTA) for the first model of the new car brand Xcite. As a columnist for the auto portal «Drom» writes Sergey Arbuzov, we are talking about the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro model and its modifications, as well as the T32 certificate, which can only be obtained for a Russian-assembled car.
«In December, the assembly of Chery Tiggo 7 Pro began at two factories at once. First, the cars were assembled at a former Volkswagen plant in the Kaluga region, then — at the „Avtozavod St. Petersburg“, former Nissan. Since the assembly was quickly discontinued in Kaluga, it is likely that the specified certificate was received for a car produced by a St. Petersburg enterprise»,— said Sergey Arbuzov.
It is not yet known who the applicant for the certificate is, what address appears as the production site and what the commercial name will be.
«Assuming that the certificate was obtained for a model produced at a former Nissan plant, and the list of names does not include the X-Cross 7 model under the Xcite brand, it can easily be added to the so-called certificate distribution . This does not require additional certification activities; „.Р1“ will be added to the index of the new document. Consequently, there is no doubt that it was Chery Tiggo 7 Pro that began production in St. Petersburg, — added Sergey Arbuzov.
It is expected that the price of the new product will be about 2.5 million rubles. In addition, a sales forecast for the first Xcite model has already been made.
«Xcite sales in 2024 could amount to 6–8 thousand cars. It is easy to make a forecast for corporate buyers. In 2023, the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro model was purchased by more than 5 thousand legal entities. Based on the sales forecast for Xcite X-Cross 7, we can assume sales from legal entities at a level of at least 3-4 thousand cars», — noted Sergey Arbuzov.
