March 14 Dongfeng began sales of the eπ electric sedan (read as [and pi]) 007, which is available in four models, including hybrids (EREV) and electric vehicles (BEV), with a price range of $22,100 to $27,800. BEV deliveries began on March 14th, and EREV deliveries will start on August 1st.
eπ — is a Dongfeng brand that specializes in pure electric vehicles to help Dongfeng achieve 100% electrification by 2024. According to Dongfeng, «e» means electron, and «π» reflects the scientific spirit of people eager to explore the unknown.
Positioned as a pure electric liftback, the Dongfeng eπ 007 measures 4880 × 1895 × 1460 mm and wheelbase 2915 mm. From the side, the roofline slopes down towards the rear of the car and is paired with frameless scissor doors, hidden door handles, black side skirts and five-spoke wheels. The new car will offer several wheel options and additional calipers.
Base model 200 Pro — This is a hybrid with an internal combustion engine that works as a power generator and is not connected to wheels, unlike a PHEV. The 200 Pro is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 28.39 kWh, which is enough for 200 km in electric mode. The car can travel 1200 km with a full tank. The electric motor has a maximum power of 160 kW and is paired with a 5-cylinder 1.5-liter internal combustion engine.
The top version is an all-wheel drive model, it is equipped with two electric motors with a total power of 400 kW (200 kW each) and a maximum torque of 640 N·m. It can accelerate to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and has a range of 540 km. With fast charging, replenishing the battery from 30% to 80% takes 26 minutes.
The cabin features a 15.6-inch central control screen and an 8.8-inch driver's instrument panel. There are plenty of physical buttons on the two-spoke steering wheel and below the center screen. The cockpit operating system is called SOA, the car received Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155. Dongfeng did not install lidar on its eπ 007, but it is equipped with 31 sensors, and the company says the car supports L2 autopilot.
