The ban comes into force on February 24

As the Yonhap agency reports, South Korea has decided to tighten export controls against Russia and Belarus, adding 682 new items to the sanctions list. Taking this into account, the list of goods prohibited for import into Russia will increase to 1,159 items. Among the innovations — ban on supplies to Russia of cars with an engine capacity of more than 2 liters.

«The new list also includes used cars with a 2000 cc engine. cm and more, which account for the bulk of South Korea's car exports to Russia», — writes Yonhap.

«This is a coordinated policy with the international community. The government will strengthen the fight against illegal trade», — a representative of the South Korean Ministry of Industry commented on the tightening of export controls.
