Russian candles have passed all mandatory tests

Rostec announced today that its member United Engine Corporation has supplied the first batch of spark plugs for the Russian-French Sam146 engines of the domestic SSJ-100 airliner to the operators of these aircraft.

It is noted that Russian candles have successfully passed all the necessary tests — both autonomous (in particular, in a thermal pressure chamber), and as part of the power plant on the aircraft itself.

Recall that the issue of spark plug shortage for Sam146 was raised in March of this year by the Deputy General Director of «IrAero» Vladimir Panfilov. He wrote a letter to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, describing the problem and explaining that if it is not resolved, it could lead to «a gradual complete cessation of flights of the entire fleet of aircraft [SSJ-100]».
