On their basis they will create powerful and durable power units for the fleet

Specialists from the United Engine Corporation (UEC) have developed two new heat-resistant alloys that are resistant to corrosion. They will be used to produce blades for marine gas turbine engines. New materials will make it possible to create more powerful and wear-resistant power units for the fleet, UEC noted.

According to the creators, the new alloys significantly exceed the best domestic samples in terms of corrosion resistance, withstand temperatures up to 1000 degrees Celsius and provide stability in an aggressive marine environment. Now the necessary documentation has been developed and technological processes for the production of components from new materials have been developed.

The alloys will be used for working and nozzle blades of turbines operating under difficult conditions, including thermal effects and complex mechanical loads. New materials make it possible to increase the efficiency and power of a marine gas turbine engine, which opens the way to the creation of promising marine power plants of a new level.
