As you know, Apple abandoned its own car project after many years of work. It was initially reported that the company would instead strengthen its artificial intelligence focus, but now Bloomberg says robotics could be Apple's next big idea.
Now the company considers this direction as what the source calls the Next Big Thing. That is, some completely new huge project for the company. Apparently, AI is not considered as such, perhaps because in general it really cannot be called completely new.
Apple, of course, is not interested in all robotics, but in home robots. In particular, we are talking about a kind of robotic assistant that will be able to follow people around the house and help in some way. A desktop stationary device with a screen is also mentioned, apparently for controlling robots.
The project is at an early stage, and it is still completely unclear how many years it may take until such a product appears. Considering the history with the car, we can wait 10 years if the project is not canceled either.
