Wey is a premium hybrid sub-brand of Great Wall Motor
Brand director of the Chinese brand Wey Yuan Jie told Izvestia that the company will bring two new models to Russia — minivan and family 7-seater crossover. «Chinese cars» found out what kind of cars they were.
The Wey 05 premium crossover is already on sale in Russia, and soon it will be complemented by the Wey Alpine minivan, which in its dimensions (5045 x 1960 x 1900 mm, wheelbase — 3085 mm) is similar to Toyota Alphard. These are the dimensions of a 7-seater Alpine, but the minivan has a slightly larger option — 6-seater with a length of 5405 mm and a wheelbase of 3275 mm. Ground clearance in both cases is 155 mm, fuel tank volume — 58 l.
Although the tank capacity is small for a large car, the range is decent since the Alpine is equipped with a hybrid powertrain. Under the hood — The 1.5-liter turbo engine produces 156 hp and is mated to a two-speed 2DHT transmission and two electric motors. The capacity of the traction battery — 37.96 kW⋅h (power reserve on pure electricity — up to 140 km), and the total power is 487 hp. The extended Alpine received a traction battery with a capacity of 44.28 kW⋅h. This car already has a 4-speed gearbox, but the power is even slightly less — 458 hp
As for the crossover, the main candidate for this role is «Chinese cars» called Wey Lanshan. Dimensions of the car — 5156 x 1980 x 1805 mm with a wheelbase of 3050 mm, and this is already a dimensional analogue of the Toyota Highlander. True, in China the car is a 6-seater, but it is unlikely that there will be any difficulties converting it into a 7-seater.
Wey Lanshan is also a hybrid, but it can be either all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive. In the latter case, the 1.5-liter engine is combined with one electric motor on the front axle and a traction battery with a capacity of 35 kW⋅h. System power — 330 hp The all-wheel drive version is more powerful, and the traction battery is larger — capacity 44.5 kW⋅h. The maximum power reserve of the hybrid — 1200 km.
