The VK company (formerly Mail.ru Group) announced the launch of a useful update for its branded services. The new system will speed up the recovery of «Mail» user accounts. and «Clouds Mail.ru».
As the press service said, information security specialists of Mail.ru services have developed a system for automatically restoring access to accounts — Garm. The tool allows you to automatically analyze data in user requests for access restoration. After assessing the reliability of the data, Garm will automatically send a link to change your account password.
The new system will be especially useful for those users who are unable to restore access on their own using backup data and who do not have it at all.
The company said:
Automation of the process will allow you to avoid errors during manual processing of applications and will reduce the time to restore user access to your account. This allowed us to increase the share of automatic recoveries to 80%, and also increased the total number of successful recoveries by 2 times.
Together with data analysis, Garm identifies dubious and potentially fraudulent restoration applications. Upon creation of such requests, the user will receive a notification and will be able to independently cancel such a request.
