The peak of attacks occurred on March 15
Head of «Rostelecom» Mikhail Oseevsky, at a briefing at the Central Election Commission, said that Russia successfully withstood all cyber attacks recorded during the presidential elections.
«Attacks were directed at all resources — on the resources of the Central Election Commission, on the resources of the Moscow government, on the resources of the operators themselves. And the preparation that was carried out, of course, made it possible to cope with all serious threats», — he said.
At the same time, the Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications Maksut Shadayev said that the turnout on the federal platform for remote electronic voting (DEG) in the presidential elections in the Russian Federation was 94%, and the infrastructure coped with record loads and attacks.
In general, the infrastructure coped well. In addition to the increased workload and the fact that voters preferred to vote in the morning, (…) there were many attacks. (…) Our peak attack was on the first day (March 15 – IF) from 13 to 14 pm. This was probably the peak of the load.
