Theft Detection Lock, Offline Device Lock and Remote Lock functions were announced in May at the Google I/O conference
Google is starting to test new features for Android that, using an artificial intelligence system, can detect theft of a smartphone and automatically block it.
Users from Brazil will be the first to benefit from the new Android anti-theft protection. Google invites them to register to then gain access to the beta version of the service.
Using sensors and algorithms on the device, Android can detect that your phone has been snatched from your hands and the thief has run away or ridden away on a bicycle. In this case, Theft Detection Lock will simply block the phone. A lock called Offline Device Lock will work even if the thief turns off the Internet on the device. The Remote Lock feature allows you to lock your phone by calling a special number and passing a security check.
These features will be rolled out with Google Play Services updates (available for Android 10 and later).
