Putin: “There will be something to fly on.” Russia has approved plans to produce thousands of aircraft by 2030

It is planned to produce MS-21 aircraft

Russia has approved a comprehensive program for the development of the aviation industry, including a plan for the production of more than a thousand aircraft by 2030. The press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation spoke about this. 

The ministry reported: 

The indicated plans, along with comprehensive support measures, including for expanding the production capacity of aviation enterprises, were approved by the comprehensive program for the development of the aviation industry. 

Russian President Vladimir Putin also spoke about this plan at today’s direct line and press conference: 

We need to develop our own aircraft manufacturing. I hope that all plans — and we plan to produce over a thousand of our own aircraft by 2030 <…> will be implemented, there will be something for specialists, pilots, and passengers to fly on. 

According to Putin, it is planned to produce MS-21 aircraft. Also, some aircraft will be converted to Russian engines, including the more powerful PD-35.
