All due to potential suspension failure
In April 2023, Porsche announced a major recall of the Carrera GT supercar due to a potential suspension failure that has still not been resolved. Owners of cars costing up to $1.5 million are still advised against using them, according to Jalopnik.
A year ago, 489 2004 and 2005 models sold in North America were recalled. The reason for the recall was a defect in the components of both suspensions, which turned out to be insufficiently reliable and susceptible to corrosion. Owners were advised to leave their cars in the garage, after which the service promotion was extended to all 1,270 cars produced.
An anonymous source told Jalopnik that Porsche still doesn't have the parts it needs, so there's no timeline for repairs yet. There is information that spare parts will be available no earlier than the third quarter of 2024.
Porsche Carrera GT, produced from 2004 to 2007, is equipped with a 5.7-liter V10 producing 612 hp. with 590 Nm of torque, which works in combination with a six-speed manual transmission. The cost of a new supercar was approximately 450 thousand dollars, and currently well-preserved examples are valued at twice or more times higher.
