More than half of the models were produced in China
Sedans, along with crossovers, remain one of the most popular cars in Russia. «Auto news of the day» carried out an analysis of current price lists of manufacturers and compiled a list of the five cheapest sedans in Russia for January 2024.
The most budget-friendly new sedan remains the Lada Granta. The starting price is 699,900 rubles. The car is equipped with an eight-valve 90-horsepower engine and a five-speed manual transmission. Options include power and heated side mirrors, power steering and power front windows.
Lada Vesta starts from 1,239,900 rubles. The sedan is equipped with an eight-valve petrol engine producing 90 hp. and a five-speed manual transmission. Unlike Granta, Vesta NG is more functional: the car received a pair of front airbags, air conditioning, LED optics and electrically adjustable rear-view mirrors.
Changan Alsvin costs from 1,720,000 rubles. The car is equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine producing 98 hp. and a five-speed robotic gearbox. Options include projector headlights, multimedia system, cruise control.
The fourth place is occupied by the Geely Emgrand, which was introduced to the Russian market in November last year. After the price increase in January, its price is from 2,009,990 rubles. This sedan is equipped with a 1.5-liter 122-horsepower naturally aspirated engine and a five-speed manual transmission. The basic package includes a fabric interior, halogen headlights and a multimedia system.
The rating is completed by the Chinese sedan BAIC U5 Plus, the price of which starts at 2,045,000 rubles. In the basic configuration, this car offers electrically adjustable and heated rear-view mirrors, a rear view camera, a multimedia system with a 12.3-inch touch screen and eco-leather trim.
