The start of sales of the Xcite X-Cross 7 crossover in Russia is postponed
Telegram channel No Limits believes that AvtoVAZ’s active interest in another increase in recycling collection could lead to the suspension of the project to assemble Chery Tiggo 7 Pro (Xcite X-Cross 7) in Russia.
Recall that earlier «Russian car» reported that the start of sales of Xcite X-Cross 7, scheduled for early May, is postponed.
«The reasons for this decision have not yet been announced, but we believe that yesterday’s statement by the Ministry of Industry and Trade that the recycling fee (after AvtoVAZ’s appeal) could be increased was not heard somewhere, but in Uhu — Chery Group's headquarters are located there. It was the Chery concern that donated its Tiggo 7 Pro crossover for assembly under the AvtoVAZ brand. Whether AvtoVAZ’s activity regarding a further increase in recycling collection in Russia really became the reason for the postponement of sales of the Xcite X-Cross 7 is still unknown. The Ministry of Industry and Trade has so far only promised to consider the appeal of the head of the Volzhsky Automobile Plant. Nevertheless, it was AvtoVAZ that often initiated new scrappage rates, and they invariably increased.
