The indie hit Pizza Tower won the hearts of many, but the bright project had difficulties receiving awards, which hurt the feelings of loyal fans
Valve recently summed up the results of The Steam Awards 2023. The games for the awards were nominated by Steam users themselves, and they also voted for them.
However, the results in some cases turned out to be controversial (according to a significant part of the community). Many argue about the victories of Starfield or Red Dead Redemption 2, but there is one indie project that was released in early 2023 and also “flew” with an award.
Bright platformer Pizza Tower became a pleasant discovery for many. The game attracted not only its gameplay or graphic style, but also its musical accompaniment. However, the award for “Best Soundtrack” went to The Last of Us Part I.
Judging by some reports, sometimes Pizza Tower fans are “torn” by such a result, which they consider unfair.
It is assumed that a number of such “controversial” victories at The Steam Awards 2023 are due to the fact that the winning games are simply more popular, according to this reason and collected more votes. The series was released on TLoU from HBO, i.e. the franchise was heard by many.
