The body of this car is tested for strength in a fall into the abyss
The press service of the Jetour brand clarified the timing of the appearance of the Jetour T2 model in Russia: the car will officially enter the domestic market in the first quarter, that is, until April. Jetour T2 will be the fourth model of the brand after Jetour Dashing, X70 Plus and X90 Plus. Prices and configurations have not yet been disclosed: details will appear closer to the start of sales.
Jetour T2 has a monocoque body, so it is not a full-fledged SUV that has a frame. However, this is not an ordinary front-wheel drive crossover/SUV. Firstly, there is an all-wheel drive system based on the sixth generation BorgWarner clutch (apparently, this is an analogue of the Tank 300 City all-wheel drive system). Secondly, there is an impressive ground clearance of 220 mm, large approach and departure angles (28° and 30° respectively), and considerable fording depth — up to 70 cm.
In China, the car (there it is presented as Chery/Jetour Traveler) is offered with a 1.5-liter engine producing 184 hp. and a 2-liter gasoline engine with 254 hp. Gearbox — either a robot or a classic «automatic».
In China, Chery/Jetour Traveler has already passed an unusual strength test: the car fell into an abyss on rocks, but the body adequately passed this test.
