The market has reached the point where a separate liquid cooling system is now being produced for SSDs. MSI showed off its Spatium M580 Frozr Liquid with this CO

Looks unusual

MSI showed a cooler for SSD at CES 2024. More precisely, an SSD with a cooler was shown, but it is the latter that is interesting here.

The fact is that we are talking about a liquid cooling system! It was installed on a Spatium M580 Frozr Liquid Gen5 drive, which will offer speeds of up to 14 GB/s.

The cooler is very compact by the standards of liquid systems, but very large if we are talking about coolers for SSDs. However, we have already seen very large coolers for modern solid-state drives.

Numerous tests show that SSDs with PCIe 5.0 are almost impossible to use without any cooling at all, but the same tests indicate that in general a heatsink and airflow inside the case are often sufficient. However, there will always be those who want all the components in their PC to operate at the lowest possible temperatures, and MSI's brainchild is created just for this. True, even MSI itself does not provide temperature data.
