Composer Nobuo Uematsu agreed to write the theme song for the third and final installment of the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy. Uematsu worked on 9 installments of the Final Fantasy series, and also wrote “Hollow” for Final Fantasy 7 Remake and “No Promises” to Keep” for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
Uematsu had already told reporters that he was going to end his music career, but in a conversation with the creative director of the project Tetsuya Nomura noted that for he would be honored to work on the music for the third remake.
“Of course, it’s nice to see new people giving their all to this series and creating great game, but I was glad to come back and contribute again.”,” Uematsu explained.
