PlayStation and Xbox lost X/Twitter support back in 2023

The Japanese company Nintendo has released a software update for its Nintendo Switch game console. Update number 18.1.0 eliminates integration with the social network X (formerly Twitter), as a result, console users will have fewer options for sharing data on social networks.

This comes on the heels of the end of X/Twitter integration on rival consoles from Sony and Microsoft. PlayStation and Xbox consoles lost support for X/Twitter back in 2023.

The decision to withdraw support comes after the X/Twitter team shut down the free API in early 2023, forcing developers and companies to pay if they want to connect to its services.
