The update is required and will install automatically
Microsoft has released a fresh update for Windows 10 (versions 22H2 and 21H2) as part of the traditional monthly «update on Tuesdays» (Patch Tuesday). The mandatory Windows 10 update KB5039211 brings updates to the «Snipping Tool» (Snipping Tool) when working with Android devices.
If you use the Phone Link app to connect your Android device to your Windows 10 PC, this update makes it easier to manage screenshots. Every time you take a screenshot on your phone, a notification appears on your PC asking you to edit it using Scissors.
In addition, the update addresses many security flaws in the operating system, as well as fixes a number of bugs and crashes. However, there are a number of unresolved but known problems within the company. For example, Copilot still causes problems on Windows 10. It moves icons between displays in a multi-monitor setup. The app also doesn't work if you use the taskbar in portrait orientation.
