Artificial intelligence will monitor the quality of gas turbine engine blades
Rostec announced that an artificial intelligence system will be introduced at the United Engine Corporation plant in Rybinsk, which will check the blades of gas turbine engines for the smallest defects. The quality control complex will be automated, and it will double the throughput of the corresponding section. The complex will include a machine vision system.
«The introduction of machine vision and artificial intelligence will almost double the speed of identifying defects on the surface of gas turbine engine blades. In addition, the enterprise will have the opportunity to analyze and adjust production processes thanks to the collected data», — said the director of digital transformation «ODK-Saturn» Evgeny Alekseev.
«ODK-Saturn» is a manufacturer of engines for civil and transport aviation (PD-8 for SJ-100, PD-14 for MS-21, PS-90A for Il-96-400T and Il-96-400M), as well as for helicopters and missiles.
