The developers have already found a fix
Microsoft has confirmed the existence of a new issue that may disrupt the context menu of applications pinned to the taskbar. This issue affects all recent updates for Windows 10, including Windows 10 KB5039211 (June Security Patch), KB5037849 (May Optional Update), KB5037768 (May Security Patch), and KB5036979 (April Optional Update).
The context menu for applications pinned to the taskbar allows you to quickly access certain functions. For example, when WhatsApp is pinned to the taskbar, you can right-click on the icon to start a new conversation or call.
Unfortunately, after recent updates to Windows 10, users began to complain that instead of the usual context menu, the «Open with…» dialog box began to appear.
In an update to the support document, Microsoft confirmed the existence of the problem. The developers have already found a fix, it will be included in the upcoming update for Windows 10 22H2.
Microsoft has not provided a complete list of affected applications. However, based on reviews, you may encounter these issues in Microsoft Teams, the new Outlook for Windows, and Snip & Sketch.
