At the intersection of avant-garde and futurism. Kia surprised with the design of the new generation Kia K4 (Cerato) sedan

A budget car that doesn't look like a budget car at all

Kia today published the first high-quality images of the new generation Kia K4 sedan (aka Forte, aka Cerato). And the car looks very unusual — it has nothing in common with its predecessor. At the same time, it looks like both the new Kia K3 and the updated Kia Sorento, if you mean the “fangs” front optics. Overall, it turned out bold and unusual.

And the most unusual design element — rear pillar with an overlay imitating glass. This makes it look like part of the rack is simply missing. The rear door handles, located immediately behind the glass, only enhance the «pillarless effect».

Kia has not yet revealed the dimensions of the new product (as well as other technical details), but judging by the proportions of the doors, the Kia K4 will be larger than its predecessor.

To match the radically redesigned exterior is a completely new interior with a panel of two screens, already traditional for Kia and Hyundai. At the same time, the company has retained the traditional buttons and switches that are responsible for controlling the climate system and audio system.

Both front seats will be electrically adjustable, heated and ventilated (probably only in the top-end configuration), there will be a heated steering wheel, and a head-up display.

The official premiere of the new Kia K4 will take place next week — March 27 — at the New York Auto Show. Then all the details will be revealed and, perhaps, Kia will name the cost of the car.
