“Maybe this wasn’t made for you.” Studio head defends Cities: Skylines 2

It's no secret that Cities: Skylines 2 was released in poor technical condition. The game also has a number of other problems, which, according to some players, distinguish it from the first part. The head of the Colossal Order studio, Mariina Hallikainen, defended the game.

Hallikainen joined the discussion on the official forum to respond to criticism of allegedly broken elements of the world simulator Cities: Skylines 2. According to some forum users, important gameplay systems such as village behavior, artificial intelligence and waste disposal simply do not work as they should.

“From a gameplay and simulation point of view, we achieved the goals we set for ourselves. Cities: Skylines 2 is an improvement over the first game. Maybe this game is not made for you if you don’t like simulators.”

“Gaming is a subjective experience and it’s impossible to please everyone. However, a bug fix patch will be released soon and we hope to resolve at least some of the issues that may be bothering you. Thank you for your patience!”

Cities: Skylines 2 is available on PC. The console version for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S is scheduled for release in early 2024.
