Lada Aura will be released in 2024
At the test site in Sosnovka in the Samara region, they began testing a prototype of the new Lada Aura sedan, which is an enlarged and more premium version of the Lada Vesta.
This was reported by the insider Telegram channel “Avtopotok” with reference to its own source: “At the test site in Sosnovka, Samara region, they began testing a prototype of the Lada Aura, an insider told us. He added that two “Chinese” cars and a Lada Iskra are also currently undergoing a test program in Sosnovka.”
Lada Aura received a wheelbase increased by 25 cm compared to the Lada Vesta, improved sound insulation, a retractable rear armrest, a genuine leather interior and a premium audio system.
Lada Aura is equipped with a 1.8-liter 122-horsepower engine paired with an automatic transmission. It is expected that mass production will begin in September, and it will be purchased en masse for the needs of Russian officials.
Lada Iskra should begin mass production at the end of 2024, and sales will start at the beginning of 2025. This model should replace the Lada Granta. It will be built on an adapted version of the French CMF-B LS platform from Renault-Nissan and will receive an automatic transmission.
As for Chinese models, insiders do not specify which cars they are talking about, but it was previously reported that AvtoVAZ is testing Chery Tiggo 7 Pro assembled in Russia.
