Sales will begin in the fourth quarter
In the first quarter of 2024, Russian Omoda dealers promise the appearance of electric crossovers C5 EV, as reported by Ilya Petrov, director of retail sales at AG «Avilon». The model was previously planned to debut in Russia in the fourth quarter of 2023, but the launch was delayed.
C5 EV will be the first electric vehicle in Omoda's lineup. Externally, it is almost identical to the standard C5 petrol crossover, featuring a new grille and front bumpers. Global competitors include the new Volvo XC40 and Kia Niro EV, and the car is close in size to the Toyota C-HR.
The car is equipped with a battery with a capacity of 61 kW•h, providing a range of 450 km. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds, and charging from 0 to 80% will take just half an hour from a 110 kW fast charger.
Omoda C5 EV will receive richer equipment compared to the gasoline version, which will be reflected in the price. While the regular Omoda C5 starts at 2,679,900 rubles, the electric version will be significantly more expensive.
In Russia, a potential competitor to the Omoda C5 EV could be the Evolute i-Jet sports crossover.
