Iran has its own Simorgh aircraft, it is built on the basis of the An-140

The head of the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran said that the country has its own aircraft factory

Today we already wrote that Iran has its own aircraft production facilities. And now more details have appeared on this matter.

The Simorgh light transport aircraft will be produced, which is actually a modernized version of the IrAn-140. A which, in turn, is based on the An-140. Where is the plant — unknown, but the ministries of transport, defense and security of Iran are involved in the creation of Simorgh.

Simorgh will be capable of transporting both cargo (up to 8 tons) and military. The length of the aircraft is 23 m, the maximum flight range — 3.9 thousand km, maximum speed — 533 km/h. Simorgh is equipped with two TV3-117 turboprop engines.
