Intel Lunar Lake processors will bury budget discrete video cards? The first test showed that the iGPU of such a processor is much more powerful than that of Core Ultra

By 26% with half the number of computational units

Intel is not sure that it will release Battlemage graphics cards this year, but it is definitely going to release Lunar Lake processors with iGPU from the Battlemage generation this year. The company has already shown such a CPU, and today it unexpectedly appeared in the SiSoft Sandra database.

The test processor had an iGPU with 64 computing units, which is half that of the top Meteor Lake. Despite this, the performance of this iGPU turned out to be much higher. More precisely, Lunar Lake is 26% faster, and with an identical number of computational units, the difference becomes twofold!

Of course, SiSoft Sandra — This is the most synthetic benchmark, and its results should not be directly projected onto games. But it still shows that the iGPU in Lunar Lake has enormous potential. If we expect approximately the same performance increase in games, this will be a new stage for iGPUs, which will be on par with the still relevant budget discrete video cards.
