For this purpose the company created Intel Foundry
Intel isn't slowing down. The company introduced a new business unit called Intel Foundry and a new Intel 14A process technology
Intel seriously intends to become the second largest semiconductor manufacturer after TSMC in 2030. And as part of this strategy, Intel, among other things, is ready and willing to produce chips for AMD.
The head of the company, Pat Gelsinger, said that he hopes to cooperate with all major market players.
We hope this will include Jensen (Nvidia), Christiano (Qualcomm) and Sundar (Google), and you heard today that it will include Satya (Microsoft), and I even hope that in the future this will include Lisa (AMD). I mean, we want to be the semiconductor manufacturer for the world, and if we're going to be that on a large scale, we can't discriminate on who's involved.
That's why I want everyone to use our production facilities. And period. We want to help create Nvidia chips, AMD chips, TPU chips for Google, and output chips for Amazon.
By the way, the Intel Foundry business unit presented yesterday, which will be responsible for production, will be practically a separate company. This will be a separate legal entity, and in the future separate financial statements will be published for it.
