Intel could create a processor with 12 large cores for LGA1700. New data about CPU Bartlett Lake has appeared

But it’s not a fact that they will appear in the consumer segment

It looks like Intel will indeed release LGA1700 Bartlett Lake processors this year, thus extending the life of the platform. New data indicates this, however, there is a nuance.

The Benchlife resource says that these CPUs will primarily be aimed at the Network and Edge Group (NEX) division, which deals with networks and peripherals. That is, Bartlett Lake may not be released in the consumer segment.

However, there is no direct indication of this, and targeting NEX does not automatically mean that we will not see Bartlett Lake-S for desktop PCs.

The source also confirms that Bartlett Lake will be the successor to Raptor Lake Refresh. However, interestingly, there is data about one model that will supposedly have 12 large cores. Intel does not have such a CPU in the consumer line for LGA1700, and there is not even a crystal that would have so many large cores. That is, this is some other crystal, possibly taken from server Xeons. But here it is worth understanding that, even if Bartlett Lake enters the consumer market, it is very likely that we will not get such a 12-core CPU. Let us remind you that new Arrow Lake is coming out this year, and there we will have a maximum of the same eight cores as in all recent years, and the 12-core Bartlett Lake may give the new products unnecessary internal competition.
