Half-Life blogger is going to sue Ubisoft over the death of The Crew, the racing game-service is living its last days

The first The Crew was remembered again, but the reason was not very joyful. Ubisoft is canceling the project, which some buyers are not happy with

The Crew is a racing service game from Ubisoft. In 2024, the history of the project was supposed to come to an end, but there was an unexpected turn in the person of a blogger known for Half-Life Freeman's Mind.

Ubisoft had previously withdrawn The Crew from sale and warned that after the servers are turned off, it will not be possible to play:

“The game will be available to all owners of The Crew until March 31, 2024. The game servers will then be shut down and the game will no longer be available.”

Accursed Farms is not happy with this state of affairs, so he intends to file a class action lawsuit against Ubisoft: it turns out that customers purchased the game in a physical edition or digital form (“perpetual license”), and now The Crew is turning into a pumpkin – will not work. At a minimum, such a lawsuit will raise the problem of game services tied to the online world, which ultimately stop working.
