Criminal case initiated
New details have emerged regarding the electric vehicle startup LLC «Zetta», which were published by the channel «Autostream».
The Togliatti prosecutor's office opened a criminal case under Part 4 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation «Fraud on an especially large scale» after checking the electric vehicle startup «Zetta» LLC. The supervisory authority reported that in 2017-2019. «Zetta» received over 284 million rubles from the federal budget for R&D on the L7 class electric car project, but the work was not completed on time. The scope of work execution ranged from 21% to 47%.
Recall that the two-seater Zetta electric car with an overall length of three meters was developed in 2018-2020. It was equipped with one electric motor and front-wheel drive. The range on one full charge reached 180 km.
Small-scale production was planned to begin in 2020, and they wanted to certify the car according to class L7 — heavy quadricycles with car controls. This would allow permission to be released without checking security systems.
In early April, information appeared that the startup «Zetta» closed, and the premises and equipment that previously belonged to the company were sold. But later the press service of the startup contacted the editors of iXBT.com and denied the information.
