The former Bridgestone plant in Ulyanovsk will restart tire production before the end of 2024, as reported by «Avtopotok» with reference to Vadim Volodin.

General Director of «Cordiant» Vadim Volodin told reporters that in 2025, the former Bridgestone plant is planned to produce 1.2 million tires. And this will only load the capacity by half.

When asked by Kommersant whether the products of Gislaved and the former Bridgestone will be positioned in the premium segment, he answered:

Yes. The tire cluster should take a leading position in all segments, starting from the economy segment C, which we, for example, produce in Omsk, and ending with the premium segment, which is produced in Kaluga and is planned for production in Ulyanovsk. We set ourselves the task of no less than achieving a 26 percent share of the Russian market within two years.

Vadim Volodin

Previously it became known that the former Continental plant produces tires under the Gislaved brand, while Gislaved is going to introduce a new premium tire brand to the Russian market.
