The company wants to participate in government tenders
Hisense, known for its televisions, plans to localize the production of interactive panels for educational institutions in Russia. This step is necessary to participate in government tenders within the framework of the national project «Education», as reported by «Kommersant».
Hisense is negotiating with several Russian organizations about the possibility of localizing the assembly of interactive displays in the country. Among potential partners, domestic assembly capacities of «Craftway» in Obninsk and the contract manufacturer of TVs «Kvant».
Ivan Kulemanov, a member of the Korean Information Display Society (KIDS), who is overseeing the Hisense negotiations, said that localization is necessary to gain access to tenders for the supply of interactive whiteboards to Russian schools and universities.
Russian vendors note that other Asian electronics manufacturers are also aiming to localize the production of interactive panels in Russia. Experts estimate the size of the interactive panels market at 11-12 billion rubles per year and point to the possibility of placing the assembly at existing TV production plants.
Localization of the production of interactive panels by Chinese and other Asian companies may lead to increased competition in the Russian educational technology market.
