Project Neural Nexus takes place in a dystopian cyberpunk world where danger lurks around every corner. Players wake up in a hotel room, pursued by law enforcement and deadly robots.
The task is to get out of a hotel infested with killers alive, guided by a faithful companion – artificial intelligence.
Project Neural Nexus uses Convai's innovative generative conversational artificial intelligence (AI) to create realistic interactions with non-player characters (NPCs). Players can participate in open conversations, make important decisions and interact with various elements of the environment – all with the support of an AI companion.
According to Convai, every decision the player makes will determine the storyline , adding an element of suspense and consequence to the gameplay. But danger lurks around every corner, and even the slightest mistake can lead to a premature end.
In the Convai trailer you can see the game world and NPCs with dynamic AI. The character animation and voice acting could use some improvement, but the overall feel of the game is promising.
Convai worked closely with Unity, using the power of the Unity Muse Behavior tool to create dynamic interactions between characters.
The founder of the project, Purnendu Mukherjee, announced plans to launch a demo version of the game at the end of 2024, and registration for early access is now open. A recent study notes that the announcement coincides with Unity's ongoing efforts to integrate AI into game development.
With 62% of studios integrating AI into their development processes, Unity's AI Muse tools, including the Behavior function, are designed to provide developers with powerful AI solutions.
